# Emergency calls

> Vocal doesn't support 911 or other emergency calls, so keep another phone for emergencies.

Vocal doesn't support 911 or any other emergency calling. Don't rely on a Vocal number, the desktop app, or the web app to reach emergency services: a 911 call placed through Vocal may not connect, and even if it does, it may not pass along your location or a number to call you back.

## What to do instead

Keep a mobile phone or a traditional landline within reach wherever your team works, and use it for emergencies. On a dispatch floor or in a recruiting office where everyone's calls run through Vocal, make sure at least one of those phones is easy to get to.

Tell your team about this too, including anyone who only uses Vocal now and then. The Terms of Service ask you to let everyone who uses your Vocal apps or devices know.

## Where Vocal says this

* Section 08 of the [Terms of Service](https://vocal.solutions/terms), "Emergency Services (911)"
* The number transfer request, which asks you to confirm you'll keep another way to call emergency services before you can submit it (see [Transfer your numbers to Vocal](https://support.vocal.solutions/numbers/porting.md))
