Vocal pricing has two parts that you pick independently: a team plan (per member, the features your team uses) and an AI usage plan (how many calls your AI handles). No contracts, no sales calls required — manage everything in Settings → Billing.

Team plans

Billed per member per month. Every active member also includes one phone number.

AI usage (credits)

AI usage is measured in the fairest unit we could find: connected calls. One credit covers one answered call with up to 3 minutes of AI talk time; each additional minute is one more credit. What doesn’t use credits:
  • Calls nobody answered — dials, busy signals, rings that went nowhere
  • Test calls while you’re building your agent
  • Calls your team answers themselves on the Vocal app
  • The human part of a transferred call — the AI’s minutes count, your team’s don’t

Prefer not to subscribe for usage? Prepaid packs never expire and roll over: 49200calls,49 → 200 calls, 199 → 850, 4992,200,499 → 2,200, 999 → 4,800. Included plan calls are always used first; prepaid covers the spillover.

Phone numbers

  • Included: one number per active member, on every paid team plan.
  • Additional numbers: local 5/month,tollfree5/month, toll-free 8/month.

One-time costs

  • US SMS registration — $99 one-time when you enable business texting; it covers the carriers’ registration fees and our compliance review. See SMS registration.

The free trial

Every new workspace starts with a 14-day trial including 50 connected AI calls — enough to run Vocal on a real line, not just kick tires. You add a card up front but aren’t charged until the trial ends; cancel before then and you pay nothing.

Common billing questions

  • Can I change plans? Anytime — upgrades take effect immediately, and billing is prorated by our payment provider.
  • Can I cancel? Anytime, from Settings → Billing. Your service runs through the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • What happens if I run out of included calls? On Lite and up, extra calls bill at your plan’s per-call rate. On Free, the AI pauses until you add a pack or upgrade — your team can still take calls directly.
