Your business number is an asset — it’s on your signage, your listings, and in your customers’ phones. Porting moves it to Vocal so the AI answers the number people already dial. Your callers notice nothing except that someone always picks up.

How porting works today

Porting is currently handled personally by our team. Email team@vocal.solutions with the number you want to move and your current carrier, and we’ll run the process with the carriers and keep you posted at every step.

What you’ll need

Carriers require proof that you own the number:
  • A recent bill or customer service record (CSR) from your current carrier
  • The account number and the account PIN/passcode
  • A signed letter of authorization (LOA) — we send you this to sign

Timeline and what to expect

  • Ports typically complete in 1–2 weeks, depending mostly on how quickly your current carrier releases the number.
  • Your number keeps working the whole time. Service stays on your old carrier until the moment the port completes, then flips to Vocal — no dead window.
  • Don’t cancel your old service before the port completes — an inactive number can’t be ported.

Go live before the port finishes

You don’t have to wait to put your AI on the front line: get a Vocal number now and forward your existing number to it from your current carrier. Callers dial your old number, Vocal answers. When the port completes, remove the forwarding — nothing else changes.
