Select a lead to open its Details, Notes, and Activity. The table shows the same core status and follow-up information, so you can make quick changes without opening each panel.

Choose a status

Click Status and pick the stage that matches your team’s process. For example, your team might use Interested, Awaiting CDL, or Hired. The available names come from your workspace; ask an Owner or Admin if a needed status is missing. New and Trying can appear as default labels when no explicit status is set. They aren’t a promise that AI has assessed the driver’s interest. Some statuses appear under Stops follow-up. Selecting one stops the lead’s follow-up work. A status such as Hired only stops follow-up if your team configured it that way. Wrong number and Do not call always stop it. Changing a status isn’t the same as scheduling a callback. Use Next follow-up for a promise you made to the driver.

Edit driver details

Use your workspace’s fields for details such as CDL class, experience, home location, availability, or equipment. Click the value in the table or lead panel to edit it. Field types determine whether you type text, enter a number, or choose an option. Extra imported sheet columns can appear separately. Mapping a column to a workspace field during import makes it part of that field; merely keeping the original sheet column doesn’t do that. Workspace attributes are associated with the driver’s number and may be reused across list entries. Status, notes, and follow-up progress belong to the individual lead entry. Don’t assume changing one list’s status will change every entry for that driver.

Save a note

Write in Notes, then click outside the field or press Enter to save. Shift+Enter adds a new line. Escape restores the saved note while you’re editing. The note field edits the lead’s current note. Keep useful earlier context if you add something new. Activity records changes alongside calls, texts, and follow-up actions. If another person changed the note or a field while you were editing, Vocal may ask you to check the new value before saving again. If saving fails, read the error and keep a copy of your text before leaving the page.

AI-filled attributes

When an Owner or Admin has enabled AI for a supported attribute, Vocal can use customer statements in calls, texts, or voicemail to fill it. It chooses from the field’s configured options and may leave it unchanged when the evidence isn’t clear. Click the AI date beside a value to open Why this value?. It shows the source type, time, and supporting statement. Text evidence may also include earlier messages used for context. You can correct the value yourself. Your manual edit is kept instead of being overwritten by later AI updates. Access to an AI value and its evidence depends on access to the source conversation.

Documents and older conversations

Files a driver texts you, like a CDL photo or résumé, are in that conversation in Inbox → Chats. Keep the recruiting status and next action on the CRM lead. The lead’s Activity isn’t a complete archive of every conversation that ever happened with that phone number. Use Inbox and search for older conversations you have permission to read.
